Let's Talk Inactivity (Break)

Hello guys, Mel here.

As you've been seeing over the past few months I haven't been active at all. I might have only posted 2 or 3 times this year.

The reason why I'm being so inactive is because of SCHOOL. 

Of course, you're thinking ''Oh my God always that excuse, she's just trying to escape posting!''. 

It's nothing like that. 7th grade is the hardest grade in the 3rd Cicle of the Basic Education in Portugal, and it's been pretty hard catching up on my grades. 

I also have exams coming each week and it's really important for me. For those who are from UK (I'm not sure if other countries have these too), you know you must be suffering with GCSEs. For those who don't know, GCSEs (General Certificate of Secondary Education) are exams, and they can determine which jobs you can take. My exams are really similar to those and by each time they will lower or increase the options.

It's really tough because I want to be a neurosurgeon or a cardiac surgeon. I've always been fascinated by medicine, even though I'm a huge astronomy nerd. And I have to get grades atleast above 80/100 to pass. While most people get confident with a 50, I find myself sad if I don't get a 90. The more my marks increase, the less oportunity the Education Department will have to exclude the job I want to take.

Anyways, I'm sorry for letting you down. I know it's been a long time since I last posted and my igloos have not been that grade, and this might sound selfish, but I have to think of myself first. This blog means a lot to me, don't take me wrong, but I really need to focus on my marks.


HOWEVER....

Don't think it's all gonna be bad news! School ends for me in exactly 2 weeks (WOOHOO) and if I pass my tests and exams as I wished, I may have exactly 3 months to focus on igloos and everything else. 

So get your hopes high, really high, like touching the sky, oh wait, the sky is infinite, damn it.

Arcade igloo by Harry Cp!

Hey everyone! Last month Club Penguin introduced some new furniture which included a new TV design. The new TV design gave me the idea to make an Arcade igloo. Take a look :

• X2 Thin Ice game
• X2 Astro Barrier game

This is a relatively simple layout but I've always wanted to make an Arcade and it's a little different from other Arcade igloos. But what do you think? Let me know in the comments below by leaving a rating /10 and letting me know how I could improve the igloo!

The Igloo Likes Guide

In order to get lots of Igloo Likes, you don't need to be the greatest igloo designer... Here is our guide for gaining plenty of Igloo Likes :

1. The Igloo Idea
- Certain igloo ideas are more popular with penguins than other igloo ideas. For example, although a garden themed igloo may be really creative, people are less likely to stay in your igloo. You want as many people to stay in your igloo as possible. Here are some igloo ideas which will attract a lot of penguins :

• Jail
• Kingdom
• College
• Vs. igloos (eg. Pirates Vs. Mermaids)
• Restaurants / Cafes
• Mall
• The Hunger Games (Igloos based on a film or show)
• Pool (Party)
• Plane / Train igloos

- What do these ideas have in common? They require interaction with penguins. This interaction may be roleplay such as being a waiter or being a knight. Igloos where you just admire the igloo aren't always the ones which gather the most igloo likes.

2. Where You Advertise 
- The best place to advertise is ALWAYS the Town. The Town is usually the first room where penguins arrive once they log on. The Town is also usually the most full room so this is where the most people will see your advertising campaign. If there is a party taking place on CP, you may want to advertise in the main room of that party eg. the Snow Forts during the Soundstudio party. 

• If you're advertising a college, you may also want to advertise in the University or Stadium. 
• If you're advertising a Day Care / Pookie Contest, you may also want to advertise in the Pet Shop
• Don't forget to advertise on the most popular server, which almost of all the time is Blizzard

3. How To Advertise

• Advertise in CAPITAL LETTERS 
• Make sure you can be seen in the room that you are in
• Use exclamation marks (You want a big speech bubble)
• Dance (You want to get people's attention)
• Sometimes you may want to wear an outfit which relates to your igloo idea
• Copy and paste the advertising campaign into the chat box so you are constantly advertising and not wasting time by typing out the campaign every time.
• You may want to include 'Help Wanted' in your campaign
• You may want to include 'Smile If Coming' in your campaign so that people recognise it is a popular igloo
• You may want to mention 'I will record' because people want to have attention (Only do this if you will record)
• Ask your friends to help you advertise

4. Change The Igloo
- Once people are in your igloo, you may want to quickly change to another igloo slot so people can like your other igloos that you have made. 

WARNING : This can be extremely annoying and might cause people to leave

5. Set A Target
- The best way to stay motivated in receiving igloo likes is by setting goals. For instance, try and receive 30 igloo likes per day. Or you might aim to reach 10,000 igloo likes by the end of the year or 500 igloo likes by the end of the month. 

6. Quality Of The Igloo
- Although the idea is perhaps more important, it's still important that your igloo looks good. This website is full of ideas and inspiration to get you started! Just start by searching for an igloo in the search bar.

7. Keep Advertising
- You can't rely on your friends to your like igloo. You need to put the effort in to advertise. Try and advertise for many 10 or 15 minutes a day, and don't forget to take breaks if you're advertising for a long period of time - you don't want to damage your eye sight!

8. Like Your Own Igloo 
- This is the easiest way to receive igloo likes because CP allows you to like your own igloo. And since we have 3 igloo slots, that's 3 igloo likes and potentially 1095 igloo likes per year! Although this does give you igloo likes, it is very little and should be considered a 'bonus' as you have to put in the effort to receive more igloo likes.

Local Shop igloo!

Hey guys! Today I'm going to show you an idea which was inspired by the April 2015 furniture. Between Igloo Ideas [S2] and Igloo Ideas [S3], I actually made some igloos which I regretfully deleted, one of which was a corner shop so I tried to incorporate some of the ideas into this igloo. So, I present my Local Shop igloo :

Ellie's #TBT - Castle Hill Inn & Lighthouse

Hey guys!

Another month, another Thursday! I'm so happy that it's finally May! Sadly I have a ton of exams/tests this week... oh well. Today we're gonna throw it back to the end of July/early August 2014 with my Castle Hill Inn & Lighthouse igloo! 

Another one of my firsts! This igloo was my second 'audition' igloo for TIC season 5. It's inspired by a local hotel and restaurant in my area, which is famous for their "lawn" portion of the restaurant, where people can order food and sit in lawn chairs over looking the ocean and their lighthouse (which looks something like this) click 'like' and 'this to see photos!

(yeah yeah I know it's not red and white but work with me here)

This igloo includes:

• The lighthouse
• The "Lawn" with seating
• A portion of the patio with seating
• Entrance to indoor seating

I love the lighthouse portion, but to me the other half is cringe-worthy. Item limit was a huge obstacle, and it prevented me from making the right side more detailed. If I were to rate it, I'd give it an 7.5/10.

Tropical Water Park Igloo by Verde Sal

Hey everyone, it's Verde Sal here. The igloo I have today is pretty special, because it is a remake of my first igloo ever uploaded to YouTube, a Tropical Water Park. This igloo was my first big step towards the igloos I make today. Here's a screenshot:

This was made back in June 2014, by the way. Obviously, this igloo has many flaws such as some alignment issues, item choices, etc. But I liked how it turned out, and it encouraged me to make more. Now over 10 months later, I've improved quite a bit. So I decided to recreate this igloo. Here it is:

This igloo features:
-Two water slides
-Snack bar/stand
-Tables and chairs
-Lounge/deck chairs
-Large pool and inner tubes

To improve the original igloo, I added new water slides to replace the big, messy one. I also tried to include more items that match the theme, as well as a new layout that makes the igloo flow better. Please tell me what you think about this igloo, and leave a rating out of 10. Peace,

Wilderness Resort + Angels vs. Vampires

Hey guys! I'm going to try something new this time and instead of going on and on about one igloo I'm just going to show you two of my igloos and tell you what they are.
