IGLOO HOW-TO's | How to make a PERFECT Igloo?!

My guide for making a perfect igloo which will get you a 10/10 in no time! What you should consider when making your igloo :

Originality:

I believe something as simple as an igloos name can get you some extra points! It's all good making an igloo everyone's seen before but how about coming up with something no one has ever seen? Why not challenge yourself with something like the Sewers?

Igloo Locations:

In 2012, igloo locations were introduced. This made it so much easier to make igloos as you no longer had to edit in a backyard igloo and now you have so much space to let your creativity fill. Picking the right location is important, I usually edit on the Forest location as it gives you slightly more room to edit in. If you want to be creative with decorating your walls, I suggest using the Age Of Dinosaurs location as you can edit further down on the wall. If you want to give your igloo a night feel I suggest using the Distant Planet location. The other locations like the Beach can be used in certain circumstances like when making a resort igloo!

Flooring:

When making an igloo it is important  that you choose the right way to fill the floor. CP's flooring's/carpets are a great way to achieve this yet they make they make the igloo look empty and basic. Items like the Ancient Bench, Wooden Walk and the Footlight Stages are a good way to fill your floor but you also have to take into account the item limit and neatness. Footlight Stages are small so you might reach item limit quickly and Wooden Walks are hard to allign.

Walls:

Similar to flooring, you also need to take into account the walls. Although it is better to edit in a location when editing, you can't place wall items as low down as you would like. Igloos work better if you're wanting to add pieces of artwork and windows to your igloo. However, you can still achieve a great igloo in a location. If you're igloo is inside eg. a shop, you can use the Cityscape item to cover the wall! If you're making an outdoor igloo you can make waterfalls out of the blue curtains and use Windows to set the scene. Walls are hard to master but an important thing to take into account.

Neatness:

When someone is rating your igloo and it is looking somewhat perfect, a point is often deducted for neatness. After finishing an igloo, make sure everything is lined up! Check your floor items, do they line up? Do your bookshelves line up? An igloo will also look neat if you divide it into sections, if you're making an indoor igloo, you can use fridges/bookshelves to break your igloo up into sections.

Creativity:

Something which can be seen in a perfect igloo is a sense of creativity! Some Club Penguin items won't look right in the igloo your making so why not make that item but with other items? For example you can make staircases using shoe racks instead of the staircase, or you can use pantry's for doors instead of CP door items. You could also make items which CP hasn't created yet such as cars and beds (the spy car is not a good item to use). Some of the blogs most creative authors are Blackmist and Alex!

Colour:

Club Penguin has many colour series' like the red, blue and green furniture series! Colour is important when making an igloo, you should think about using the same colour of bookshelves, using the same colour of fridges etc. Certain items will go together and some items will not. Too many different kinds of colour can instantly make your igloo look messy so try and stick to a colour scheme. For outdoor igloos, try and use earthy colours.

Item Limit:

Item limit is the one thing that every igloo editor HATES! When reaching item limit there isn't a lot you can do. Try shuffling your floor items along to see if you could potentially remove one. If you've added a lot of detail, try and remove a few items so you can fill the whole igloo space. If your igloo is still pretty empty and you've hit the limit, don't be afraid to start your igloo again, I've started my igloos again before and they turned out even better! If it's not 99 items, your igloo is probably not good enough.

Item Sizes:

You may think item sizes aren't that important but they are! Bigger items should be placed at the back of the igloo. This is because you want to hide the transition between the floor of the igloo and the wall of the igloo, the bigger items will hep to achieve this. Big items include the Cosy House items, Climbing Walls and Hedge Trees.

I hope this guide helped you! Here's a big tip when judging your igloo : The best igloos are where you can hardly notice the location you edited on and when your igloo looks like it could actually be a room in Club Penguin!

I would love to hear what you think makes a 10/10 igloo, let me know in the comments. Who knows, maybe some of your tips will make it into this post.

  6. Just noticed a typo in the 'Item Limit' paragraph (last sentence) the word "you're" should be *your instead. (sorry I'm bored and technically there really cannot be a perfect igloo. think about it, everyone has different standards thus there's no such thing as perfect. also sorry for lazy grammar :P) Ps. Bored and lazy DON'T mix.

  8. I never knew item sizes are so important, but it makes sense bigger in the back and smaller in the front(or the other way) because it's like a painting creating the illusion that things are further away. Thanks Harry!!
